TBL Industrial & Engineering Exports Pvt Ltd started off as Jainex Industrial as a 50-50 partnership between the Jainex group and LMG Group registered in Mumbai with operational headquarters in Kolkata. The major thrust was exports and imports. TBL was primary focused on hydraulic applications which led to its first tie up with Parker Hannifin, the world leader in Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Filtration products and Seals. The first order was received in March 2002 for export to Bangladesh.
Orders started coming in due to the result of extensive marketing by Taher M Faizullabhoy, the chief coordinator of the business which led to building up a huge customer base. TBL joined hands with Timken Bearings in 2003 and executed its largest order in 2004. With customers showing confidence in Jainex Industrial and with the encouragement of our principals and directors a company was launched in partnership between our local partner Mr Ameir Fakhri and the rest of the directors of Jainex Industrial in April 2004. This boosted the confidence of our customers all the more and they depended on us for more products. Ross Pneumatics was added followed by Ferrocare, Alliance, TIDC Diamond and WIKA. From 2005, Jainex group and TBL parted ways and TBL industrial and Engineering exports Pvt. Ltd. was formed with its registered office and HQ in Kolkata.
Another partnership company was formed in 2002 - The Business Link for marketing Parker products in eastern India and Bangladesh. This company continues till date having varied businesses under its belt namely:-
An agreement with one of the leading American Roll manufacturers, Union Electric, was made to cater specifically to the Bangladesh market from 2005-2009.
In 2007, TBL and LMG group parted ways leading to TBL becoming a propeitership with Taher Faizullabhoy being the sole proprieter. This led to tie ups between TBL and HYDAIR ENGG Mumbai for hydraulic fittings and Ratnadeep metals for tubes and pipes and big project orders were booked for steel plant projects and refineries.
In 2007 the foray was made into EOT cranes with Demag and big business resulted after extensive and persuasive marketing from 2007 to 2012 when the big order for steel plants came Demag's way along with an entry into power sector. With Demag and TBL's joint efforts, several customers were developed in eastern India to service the spares hoists and accessories markets.
TBL joined hands with Hawe as the first hydraulic product in 2010 and SEW for gear motors in 2009 . In 2009 a number of steel plant related agencies were signed with W.Pilling Germany for zinc kettles, Esmech SMS for cold rolling mills and process lines, Thermovision for galvanizing furnaces and Uniabex for sink and stabilizer rolls.
In 2012 an agreement was signed with Mathey Dearman of Oklahoma with 80 years experience in welding beveling and cutting technology tools for big diameter pipes.
TBL also tied up with Ms Electromagnetic industries in 2010 for magnets and vibratory equipments, Rexnord in 2012 for special imported gear couplings and Falk gear boxes and HJ Engineers for socket and butt weld fittings and flanges. In 2012- 13 TBL signed up with Eaton Vickers for marketing their internationally acclaimed hydraulics in Bangladesh. In 2012-13 we launched HIFORCE Hydraulic tools and also tied up with Ceecons for agitators, Steelcons for heat exchangers and pressure vessels and Keje for special welding equipments. Towards the latter half of 2013, TBL associated with one of the leaders in water and effluent treatment clarifiers - Krofta Engineering.
In 2014 TBL tied up with Kolkata based manufacturers who would manufacture and fabricate mechanical equipment - Ms Universal engineering for long products machinery and Ms Accessories Engineering for cold rolling mill machineries. In 2013 TBL decided to work with HYDAC for marketing their filtration products and accumulators.
An Agreement was also signed with MS Engineering services for coal based producer gas plants and Trident for oil cleaning machines and in 2015 with Scantech for gauging systems in glass plastics and CRMS. TBL associated with Bonfiglioli in 2014 for marketing world famous gear motors and good orders were secured with prestigious clients in Bangladesh and this business continues to grow in 2015.
TBL continues to service customers with special products like Kirloskar motors, Kriton seam welding machines, Fenner couplings, Marathon motors, Rexroth hydraulics, Gandhi special tubes, Brady Morris and Unique Cranes, and any other specific request for hydraulic items including flushing equipment, hoses and manifold blocks.
TBL participated in its first overseas exhibition in Indonesia in 2008 and worked in steel projects in Indonesia and Malaysia. From 2010 it has participated in several exhibitions in Bangladesh, Myanmar and India including the EEPC ENGG Mumbai (2013) and IMME Kolkata (2014) and this year plans to take part in INDEE Mandalay (February 2015) and in the Hannover MESSE (April 2015).
By way of these exhibitions it aims to promote the product portfolio and the concept of a 'basket' of top of the line critical engineering products under one roof just a mail away.
Towards the end of 2014, TBL launched a new concept focusing on Service namely - Hydraulic Services and Solutions center with two hydraulic experts with a combined experience of over 60 years in the field. TBL has also launched crane services on similar lines. The focus of TBL is to provide solutions to customers.
With the advent of their director Adnan Taher Faizullabhoy in 2013 after a 3 years stint in Biotechnology at St Xavier's college Mumbai and a one year Master's at Sheffield University in UK and two years of research at Cambridge University, the business has got a huge boost. There is a burst of energy with modern thinking and the use of latest computer aided technical tools.
TBL has added global sourcing to give customers any product from anywhere and in this endeavor has established associates in US UK Europe Singapore, China and Taiwan.
TBL has also started business in the Middle East and looks to establish itself in Africa with the help of its energetic, hard working and efficient staff.
